Tire Image1Tires:

A tire is a toroidal rubber piece that is placed over the wheels of the vehicles and machines. Its main function is to maintain and allow proper adhesion and friction contact with the pavement, allowing the vehicle to start and stop properly.

Tires are usually reinforced on the inside by a series of metallic threads. Depending on the orientation of these metal threads, the tire is classified as either diagonal or radial. Radial tires are the most widely used standard for all or most types of existing vehicles. To enjoy the pleasure of driving it is necessary to replace worn tires, as a new tire provides ideal grip and traction as well as a smooth and fuel-efficient ride.

Nobody likes to have to purchase new tires, but we all have to at some point or another. Here are some things to keep in mind before you head off to buy.

First, make sure to know the make and model of your vehicle, as this can influence the size of the tire needed. You will find this information on the vehicle info tag on the driver’s side door on vehicles manufactured after 2005. In older models, the label can be found on the back door, on the gas flap, glove compartment, center console, or in the engine compartment.

It is also important to know the size of the rim. You'll find it on the sidewall of the tire. You can also find this information on the label that is on the driver's door or in the owner's manual.

Always make sure to ask about what you’re paying for. Make sure their tire package covers balancing, weights, valve stem maintenance and repair, installation; pressure monitoring, and even system tire and wheel alignment, which could be necessary if the front tires were worn unevenly.

Be sure to ask about Road Hazard Insurance for your tires to make sure you have extra protection against the dangers of the road.

If you end up with more than one choice, we can show you the features and benefits of each tire, so that when you buy a tire, you can make that decision with confidence. With our program Drive With You.
